Description

Synchrotech provides Elan's P312 PCI Bus to CompactFlash™ Read-Writer Low Profile for OEMs and system integrators. This revolutionary card provides Low Profile PCs with all the functionality of a CompactFlash+™ (CFII+) slot. CFII+ devices are esentially 16-bit PCMCIA cards with I/O functionality including WiFi and other applications. The P312 is also excellent in low-profile PCI style embedded systems. Using CompactFlash storage cards in fixed disk (True-IDE) mode, the CompactFlash card serves as the bootable and primary hard drive for the embedded operating system. Created for low profile PC designs, the read-writer conforms to the MD1 profile specification. It cannot be used in standard chassis because of the miniaturized LP PCI backplane bracket.

The unit's patented hardware and software driver design supports IRQs without needing an ISA slot. When used with operating systems providing full Card and Socket Services support, the read-writer interfaces with all CompactFlash™ memory and I/O cards in either 3.3V or 5V modes. A single slot design accommodates up to Type II card including extended types with antennae. Suitable for wireless LAN cards, memory cards including Microdrives, and more. The device drivers work with nearly every Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems running on the 586 or later platform.
